About

Janet Humphrey, L.Ac.

Janet Humphrey | Acupuncture in Palm Beach County, FLLife brings a full range of gifts and challenges. Each one of us seeks to navigate in ways that best help us to relieve pain and to cultivate wholeness and happiness.

My work is rooted in my own lifelong journey on the path of healing.

In my clinical healing practice I use Breathwork, Japanese Meridian-Style Acupuncture, Trigger Point Release Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Mindbody Healing.

I also work with Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy (APIT) using homeopathic, herbal and nutritional medicines, as well as LED and laser light therapy. Adjunct therapies include Cupping, Moxibustion, Gua Sha, and Myofascial Release Therapy, incorporated into your treatment as needed.

I first discovered Acupuncture when I sought treatment for a severe and chronic case of sinusitis and bronchitis that was resisting all medical treatments. The virtual overnight healing I experienced was so remarkable that I began to turn my scientific mind in the direction of studying Chinese medicine. I saw that it treated the whole person and not just a symptom – and so effectively! As I began my studies, I continued working in molecular biology research at the University of California, studying genes in fruit flies that might eventually give us clues to controlling cancer.

My studies were through Five Branches Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Cruz, California and San Francisco College of Acupuncture, as part of a 4000-hour state-approved clinical apprenticeship leading to licensure in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.

When I relocated to New York City I studied at Tri-State College of Acupuncture, delving deeper into Acupuncture Physical Medicine and Trigger Point Release with Dr. Mark Seem, and with Kiiko Matsumoto in her unique style of Japanese acupuncture.

I work extensively with Pain Syndromes (sports injuries, back pain, disc herniation, sciatica, headache, migraine, arthritis, and other pain-related conditions).

In addition, I work with internal medicine disorders including digestive problems, fatigue, stress and burnout, autoimmune conditions, infertility, insomnia, and hormonal imbalances, and more.

Your treatment is individual and tailored to your needs. I spend time with each patient and give my full attention to you and your treatment. It is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. All aspects of your health are addressed, while prioritizing your primary complaints. I help patients navigate their health care choices and decisions as they seek to integrate conventional medicine with the complementary healing modalities that I provide.
