I offer competitive rates for my skill as a therapist, 25 years of clinical experience, and quality of training and continued education in the field of counseling. Because counseling addresses such critical areas of your life, it is very important to interview several therapists to get a feel for them on the phone and choose a clinician you “click” with. I welcome you to call me for a complimentary 15-minute phone call to do just that. Please read below for more information about insurance, out-of-network insurance benefits, payment options, and my cancellation policy.
Insurance
It is my policy to receive full payment at the time of the session. I do not participate in-network with health insurance. My approach to healing recognizes that all of our parts are interconnected. This is completely different from Western medicine, which isolates each part of us and then tries to treat it on its own. Insurance billing is based on this medical model. It can sometimes be valid when using acupuncture to treat specific pain syndromes. If you wish to submit your own claims for covered services, I will provide you with a superbill, when applicable. I am unable to provide follow-up notes or documentation to the insurance carrier in cases where they are requested. This becomes a time-consuming administrative task which removes me from my healing work.
A note about Medicare
Licensed acupuncturists are not recognized as Medicare providers and I do not work with Medicare.
Cancellation Policy
I provide appointment reminders as a courtesy via email and text. If you do not show up on time for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay $100 for the contracted time I set aside for you. It is not possible for me to double-book sessions. Therefore, when you don’t give at least 24 hours’ notice so I can fill your spot with someone on my waiting list, I lose 100% of my income for the hour. Hence, the $100 fee to cover my overhead and other expenses. I do require a copy of your credit card payment information to be kept on file so that I can charge for missed sessions.
